Who looks after your information

Goloka School is run by Confident Sage Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 07180625), registered office 25-29 Sandy Way, Yeadon, Leeds, England, LS19 7EW. We are the “data controller”, the ones responsible for looking after the information you give us.

You can reach us about anything on this page at admin@goloka.school.

What we collect, and why

About you (the parent): your name, email, country, and the payment details you enter (see below on payments). We use these to set up your membership, take payment, send you your materials and reminders, and answer your questions.

About your children:their first names, and the answers to our onboarding questions (our “Learner Lens”) that help us place each child at the right stage. We collect this only so we can give your child the right materials and support.

How you use the site: basic information about how the platform is used, so we can keep it working and make it better.

Your children's information, how we treat it

We know children's information deserves extra care, and we treat it that way.

• You, the parent or guardian, provide your children's information and agree to us using it. Children don't sign up themselves.
• We use it for one purpose: to run your child's learning inside Goloka School. We don't use it for advertising, and we never sell it.
• We don't share it with other members or the wider community, and we don't share it with anyone outside Goloka School except the trusted services we need to run the platform, below.
• You can ask us to show you, correct, or delete your children's information at any time.

The trusted services we use

We use a small number of trusted companies to run Goloka School. They only get the information they need to do their job, and they're not allowed to use it for anything else:

• Stripe handles payments. Your card details go straight to Stripe, we never see or store them.
• Supabase stores your account information and your children's learning records securely.
• Vercel hosts the Goloka School website and platform.
• Resend delivers the emails we send you, reminders, your materials, and replies to your questions.

Where your information is kept

We're based in Portugal and the UK, and some of our trusted services store information in other countries. Wherever it goes, we make sure it's protected to the standard required by UK and EU data protection law.

How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as you're a member, and for a reasonable time afterwards to meet our legal and accounting duties. When we no longer need it, we delete it or make it anonymous.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

• show you the information we hold about you and your children,
• correct anything that's wrong,
• delete it,
• or stop using it in certain ways.

Just email admin@goloka.schooland we'll help. If you're ever unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can also complain to your country's data protection authority (in the UK, that's the ICO; in Portugal, the CNPD).

Cookies

Goloka School uses only essential cookies, the kind needed to keep you signed in and to remember basic preferences. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies, and there are no tracking pixels from Facebook, Google or anyone else anywhere on this site.

Changes to this policy

If we make an important change to how we handle your information, we'll let you know.
