For parents

You don't need to be a teacher.
You just need this.

Every family who joins Goloka School gets two things for the stage ahead: a Parent Guide, and a full set of weekly lesson plans. Together, they answer the question every devoted parent asks before they start: can I actually do this?

It sits alongside whatever your children do already – school, homeschool or gurukula.

Śrīla Prabhupāda

You can. Śrīla Prabhupāda has already done the hard work – the translations, the purports, the philosophy. Your Parent Guide turns that into a week-by-week rhythm you can follow, in plain language, with no teaching background required.

What's inside every Parent Guide

A parent reference guide to use throughout the year that walks you through:

  • How to teach your child a Sanskrit verse, step by step – call-and-response for the youngest children, reading-with-purport as they grow
  • How to use the daily sādhana tracker, and how to talk about progress without pressure
  • A suggested way to lead a family kīrtana, if that’s new to you
  • How to run each activity in the lesson plans, with everything you need provided – no workbooks, ever
  • What “a good answer looks like” at your child’s stage, so you know what you’re looking for
  • Straight answers to the moments every parent hits: the child who won’t sit still, the child who says “I already know this,” the day you don’t know the answer yourself

Pick any stage to preview the Week 1 lesson pack, exactly as your family would receive it, split into parent and child resources. Every stage runs for 36 weeks (the average school year), we are giving you the first week as a free trial.

You don't need to know your child's stage. When you join, a short placement quiz – the Learner Ladder – finds it for you. For now, browse any stage to see what a week is like.

Jaya Govinda das and Hema Radhika devi dasi with their children, working through Goloka School materials together

Two devotee parents who built what we couldn't buy

We're Jaya Govinda das and Hema Radhika devi dasi. We live in Portugal with our children, who learn at home - and who are Goloka School's first students. Hema Radhika is a qualified teacher. Jaya Govinda das lived in the ashram before embarking on a career of 20+ years building systems in banks. Between us, we knew how to teach and how to build; what we didn't have was anything worth teaching from.

Because we desperately wanted to impress Kṛṣṇa consciousness on our children, and nothing out there did the job. There are lots of resources - books, videos, worksheets, Sunday school. But every week, we were the ones doing all the work: hunting them down, working out what order to do them in, filling the gaps between them.

And none of it was systematic. Their other subjects moved forward step by step, year after year, but our Kṛṣṇa conscious teaching did not. As our children grew older, the materials were either too simple or too advanced. The philosophy stayed simple. The pastimes stayed at the same level, just when our children were ready to go deeper.

So we built it. You've seen a week of it above.

One membership. One child. One stage at a time.

Each child gets their own place at their own stage. The membership continues stage by stage as they progress, and you can stop whenever you like.

What happens when you sign up?

You get immediate access to the founding membership, and we start getting your child onboard:

  1. 1Come to a welcome call. We'll send you a Zoom invite. On the call we explain how the programme works, how to get your child started, and how the community works. You'll meet us, and the other founding families.
  2. 2Your child takes the stage quiz.It places them on the right step of the Learner Ladder - not their school year, not their age, but where they actually are. It's thorough (allow around half an hour per child), because starting at the right stage is what makes everything else work.
  3. 3Week 1 of their stage unlocks. A new week unlocks each time you finish one, so nothing ever piles up. Finish the stage, and the next is waiting.

Before you decide

I have three children. How does that work?

Each child has their own membership at their own stage, with their own Learner Ladder quiz and their own materials. Every additional child is discounted.

What is the Learner Ladder quiz?

A placement quiz your child does on their first day. It's thorough - so allow around half an hour per child - because starting at the right stage is what makes the whole curriculum work. It finds the best stage for your child based on what they already know, not their school year.

Are all nine stages finished?

Six of nine stages are complete. Stages 7-9 are in production, ahead of the children who will need them. If your child is likely to place there, join the waitlist for their stage and we'll write to you the moment it's ready.

Do I need a printer?

It helps, but is not essential. Everything can be read on a screen, however we would not recommend a screen smaller than a tablet for the activity sheets. If you do print, an ordinary home inkjet printer is fine and you do not need to print in colour.

Is this ISKCON?

It's Gauḍīya Vaiṣṇava, in the line of Śrīla Prabhupāda, and it's made by two devotees. It isn't run by any temple or institution. Families from any Vaiṣṇava community are welcome.
